About Us

Catalyst Autosport is a semi-professional sprint car team based in Omaha, Nebraska.

The team was founded by Tony Rost in 2020 with the vision of building a racing brand that serves to elevate the fan experience and create accessibility for future generations of racers.

Wanting to make an impact in the sport as a whole, Catalyst Autosport created behind the scenes vlogs and content to give fans a chance to be part of the experience more than just sitting in the stands during the races. Engaging fans and followers and creating value in social media content has been a priority for the team to do their part to grow the sport.

Rost intentionally built Catalyst Autosport to stand apart from other sprint car teams by prioritizing the team's mission over name recognition. The goal is simple: to be a catalyst for young drivers. Recognizing that many aspiring racers lack the financial support to get behind the wheel, Catalyst Autosport is committed to helping develop the next generation of sprint car drivers and providing them with opportunities to grow in the sport.

Driver Bio

Tony Rost, a Utica, Nebraska native, began racing at age 9, starting with go-karts at local dirt tracks. By 14, he was competing in full-size race cars across Nebraska, quickly making a name for himself. In 2013, he dominated the NASCAR Sport Modified National Championship, winning 14 out of 24 races and finishing just one point shy of the national title.

Rost transitioned to sprint cars in 2014, racing in Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa. He made an immediate impact, setting a track record at Eagle Raceway, becoming the first driver to break a 13-second lap.

In 2015, Rost expanded his racing experience, competing in a variety of wing and non-wing races, including ASCS National Sprint Car Tour and USAC National Sprint Tour events across the U.S., further honing his versatility on the track.

After graduating from Kansas State University and being accepted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Rost decided to focus on his education, temporarily stepping away from racing. His passion for the sport remained strong, and in 2020, after earning a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy and an MBA he founded Catalyst Autosport to build a racing brand focused on elevating the sport and making it more accessible for future generations. Since 2021, Rost has competed weekly in the 360 Knoxville Championship Series as the driver for Catalyst Autosport.

In 2025, Tony Rost in the Catalyst Autosport 99 will contend for the 360 Sprint Car Championship at Knoxville Raceway and compete in multiple ASCS National Tour and Malvern Bank 360 Sprint Series events across the Midwest.
